Chicago – the city like none other

It is also the most populous city in the state of Illinois and the American Midwest. The city was established in 1837 near a portage between the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River Watershed, and experienced rapid growth in the mid-nineteenth century. The City is considered as one of the most important cities of United States regarded as alpha global city by Globalization and World Cities research network. Today, the city is an international hub for finance, commerce, industry, technology, telecommunications, and transportation, with O’Hare International Airport being the second busiest airport; it also has the largest number of U.S. highways, and railroad freight entering its region. There are huge numbers of tourists coming to Chicago every year, some for business and some for exploration. The city has a lot to offer to everyone. The various moments, and landmarks that describe the city allow every tourist or visitor to enjoy. Some of those places are like John G. Shedd Aquarium, one of the most visited cultural attractions in Chicago. The city has more than 2 million guests every year. Curious explorers generally roam through more than 80 habitats, acquainting themselves with some 1,500 species. The recently “reimagined” Abbott Oceanarium, which has many amazing species like beluga whales, Pacific white-sided dolphins, Alaska sea otters and California sea lions up close, while the 90,000-gallon (340,687 liters) Caribbean Reef installation offers a 360-degree view of the sea life found in warm waters. Then there is Art institute of Chicago for art lovers. Here you can find the most exquisite and amazing art collection of the whole world. Also The Field Museum, which has several rare artifacts that could take you to a tour all through the history. The remarkable Sue — the world’s largest, most complete, and best-preserved Tyrannosaurus rex attracts a lot of tourist every year. Then you can pay a visit to Adler Planetarium. The planetarium seems like it would launch itself into Lake Michigan from its lakeside perch. They have life –size model of Mars Rover and The Galaxy Wall — the largest and most complete view of our Milky Way. And one of the Chicago’s trademarks is Sky deck Chicago. It is the tallest building in the western hemisphere, which has one of the best eagle eye views of the city of Chicago. Located atop the Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower), Sky deck Chicago attracts nearly 1.3 million visitors each year to its 103rd floor observation deck which rises 1,353 feet (412.4 meters) above street level.
